We are searching for an Assistant Plant Controller to join our team at our Old Fort Plant in Old Fort, NC..
Responsibilities Overview:
- Prepares and supports the Daily, Weekly & Monthly financial reports, monthly forecasts, annual operating plan, and overall strategic planning.
- Audits & supports the internal controls and C-SOX compliance at the plant level.
- Assures adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Policies. Resolve questions of GAAP and internal controls with corporate financial management.
- Analyzes and accurately reports current month’s financial results to the plant and corporate management in accordance with corporate format and time requirements.
- Completes and/or supports Account Reconciliations for all General Ledger accounts monthly.
- Completes all financial transactions, transmissions, and reporting on a timely and accurate basis.
- Identifies cost reduction and profit improvement opportunities and makes appropriate recommendations for implementing plans to address them.
- Coordinates any audits with the outside auditors
- Participates in the physical inventory. Investigates and explains book to physical adjustments.
- Supports analysis of excess and obsolete inventory items on a semi-annual basis and maintenance of perpetual inventory for finished goods and reconciles this perpetual to production, shipping, and returns daily.
- Performs audits of bill of materials and Routings to ensure product costs are accurate and accounted for properly.
- Ensures timely and accurate input of bill of material and price code changes.
- Attends daily plant production meetings.
- Oversees preparation of capital forecasts with local management and submits them to corporate as required. Oversees maintenance of fixed asset ledger on FAS and balance to the General Ledger.
- Ensures timely and accurate reporting of government required information
- Assists in the completion of special projects.
- Responsible for processing of weekly payroll which requires daily tasks.
Requirements
- BS/BA Degree in related field
- MBA and/or CMA preferred but not required
- Requires 5+ years in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public
- Must be able to analyze financial statements, interpret and recommend courses of action to assist management in the successful operating of the business.
- Must be willing to work in a team environment and function with little direct supervision.
- Proficient in Excel
- Knowledge of QAD and PLEX preferred but not required.
