With U.S.-based operational headquarters in Southfield, Michigan, Auria operates 16 manufacturing, 9 technical and 5 JV locations across 10 countries and employs approximately 3,900 people worldwide.
 

The Materials Manager will be responsible for leading the plant materials team and working with our customer base to ensure requirements are met.

 

POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS (PSR):

  • Evaluate current business processes and systems
  • Plan and implement procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiency
  • Responsible for the achievement of department/division/unit productivity and quality goals
  • Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in purchasing and distributing materials and supplies in an organization
  • Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to the materials function
  • Understands business implications of decisions; Displays orientation to profitability; Aligns work with strategic goals
  • Develops strategies to achieve organizational goals; Understands organization's strengths & weaknesses; Identifies external threats and opportunities
  • Communicate with customers and suppliers regarding delivery, quantity shipped and purchased materials
  • Effectively manage inventory with accuracy
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Operations and other departments concerning materials management and delivery performance.
  • Provide support to department and operations after hours and on weekends as needed

Education:

  • BS/BA required

Experience:

  • (5) five or more years’ experience supervising in a manufacturing environment

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Priority setting and time management
  • Action oriented / produces results
  • Manages a broad functional area
  • Excellent computer skills including use of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to read, write and perform non-complex mathematical calculations
  • Must be a team player having excellent communication, organization, negotiation and interpersonal skills as well as analytical skills
  • Must be able to function in a fast pace and high demanding environment
  • Ability to pay attention to detail, multi-task and follow direction
