We are currently searching for an IT Systems Engineer to join our team at our team. This position can be based in Old Fort, NC , Albemarle, NC, or Spartanburg, SC depending on the successful candidate’s location.
The IT Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting the designing, implementing, and managing the organizations global IT systems to ensure their reliability, scalability, and security. This role provides technical leadership in areas such as Active Directory Domain Services, Entra ID, Intune, SSO, Azure, VMware and KVM virtualization, and Backup and Disaster Recovery (DR). The Senior IT Systems Analyst serves as a key technical resource, collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring peers, and driving systems optimization and innovation..

Responsibilities Overview:
  • Act as a key contributor to the development and execution of IT project plans and roadmaps, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to peer and junior IT staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
  • Lead systems team to deliver complex projects, ensuring timely execution and high-quality results.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to improve system efficiency, security, and scalability.
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of global core infrastructure systems, including Active Directory Domain Services, Entra ID, SSO, Microsoft 365, and Azure cloud services.
  • Lead the management and support of virtualization platforms (VMware and KVM)
  • Lead the configuration and management of endpoint management tools (Intune and ConnectWise Automate)
  • Ensure Backup and Disaster Recovery systems are optimized and tested regularly.
  • Design and implement solutions that ensure system reliability, scalability, and compliance with security standards.
  • Act as the technical escalation point for critical network issues, leveraging advanced troubleshooting skills to resolve incidents and minimize business impact.
  • The IT System Analyst also provides technical support to end users, local, and remote IT staff.
  • Proactively monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement, ensuring maximum system availability.
  • Develop and enforce comprehensive documentation standards for all managed systems and processes.
  • Due to the nature of our responsibilities and the business need for service availability, you are required to be available for on-call duties to address critical incidents and perform maintenance activities outside regular business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Partner with local, remote, and MSP IT teams to ensure system configurations align with organizational standards.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing expert insights on technology trends and their potential impact on the organization.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects, ensuring network considerations are addressed at all stages.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Lead system changes through change management processes, ensuring risks are minimized, and rollbacks are planned and documented.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key partners ensuring SLA compliance and leveraging support for optimal solutions.
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices, integrating relevant advancements into the organization’s IT ecosystem.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiency, reducing manual tasks and improving reliability.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
                   
                  Requirements:
                  • Minimum of 7 years in IT systems engineering or a related role.
                  • Expertise in managing global IT environments, including core infrastructure, collaboration tools, and device management.
                  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and mentor team members effectively.
                  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
                  • Current Microsoft, ITIL Foundation, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent certifications desired.
                   
                  Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
                  • Advanced to expert knowledge of Active Directory Domain Services, Intune, Azure, SSO, and virtualization platforms (VMware and KVM).
                  • Advanced understanding of Backup and Disaster Recovery systems.
                  • Proven experience implementing Perl, PowerShell, or other scripting languages to automate configurations, deployments, and other systems management tasks.
                  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
                  • Proactive mindset, with a focus on learning and adapting to evolving technology needs.
                  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with a proven track record of guiding peer and junior level technical teams.
                  Travel:
                  • Ability to travel up to 50% domestically and occasional international trips to support plant operations and global IT initiatives.
                  Physical Requirements:
                  • Ability to work in front of a computer screen 8 hours or more per day
                  • Ability to move around in office environment as needed to complete job duties. This may involve the need to climb stairs
                  • Must be able to fully comply with all applicable safety requirements and policies
                  • Ability to move around on production floor as needed to complete job duties. This may involve the need to climb stairs or ladders
                  • Ability to work in noisy environment
