Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Location: St Clair, MI, Holmesville, OH or Spartanburg, SC

Position Specific Requirements (PSR):

Auria Solutions, a Tier 1 Automotive Supplier, is currently searching for a Manufacturing Engineer experienced with Polyurethane Foam Systems experience. This position will support our three points in St Clair, MI, Holmesville, OH and Spartanburg, SC.

This position is responsible for polyurethane foam process development, plant process support and the assistance with the development of foam tool designs to optimize foam usage in our North American Plants. The position will ensure that these systems and processes operate effectively and efficiently. The position will also have the opportunity to work on a variety of other manufacturing engineering type of projects related to manufacturing of acoustical soft trim products for the automotive industry.

Position Specific Requirements (PSR):

  • Assist with polyurethane foam tooling designs to help optimize foam flow and minimize foam usage.
  • Research new technologies to improve the quality and efficiencies within our manufacturing environments.
  • Perform program changes to robotic open pour systems when required.
  • Support the Auria manufacturing sites with launch activities related to polyurethane foam programs.
  • Project management keeping projects within cost and timing targets.
  • Identify CI opportunities in our plant production processes.
  • Assist in identifying critical spare parts for foam equipment.
  • Assist in the specifications for new foam system capital expenditures.
  • Assisting in the training and development of engineering or maintenance groups related to new equipment and technologies introduced to the plants.
  • Assist the plant technical/maintenance managers in identifying and developing a rolling plan to upgrade process equipment where necessary.
  • Follow new foam equipment and perform validation of the new systems.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities. This includes quality, safety, efficiency, and plant Kaizen events.
  • Perform other duties assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field preferred

Experience:

  • Requires minimum of 5 years experience
  • Preferred experience with polyurethane foam systems

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to program robots on foaming systems.
  • Experience with tool designs related to polyurethane foam.
  • Working knowledge Polyurethane foam systems.
  • Experience in machine buyoff practices.
  • Experience with mold releases and mold coatings.
