We are currently searching for SQE to join our team in Mexico. This role will be responsible for:
JOB DESCRIPTION
Leads the efforts to implement and maintain quality and delivery requirements from the supply base and supports the organization in meeting supplier quality related goals.
Principle Accountabilities
• Auditing of suppliers (system and process) as required
• Take the lead on plant incoming quality/delivery issues, C of A’s, and other supplied parts issues
o Responsibility for Queretaro and Puebla
• Development of suppliers in conjunction with purchasing and SQ managers
• Support VA/VE activities
• Corrective and preventive action review and follow up
• Facilitate the supplier escalation process
• Communicate and align activities between plant quality and engineering
• Support maintenance of the Supplier Requirements Manual
• Interaction with the commodity and Project Buyers
• Support Programs with SQA (APQP-PPAP) activities
o Supplier Launch Readiness Reviews
o Supplier APQP verification
o On-site witness of capacity verifications
o On-site supplier PPAP validation
o Sign-off on PPAP documentation (Queretaro and Puebla only)
• Ability to travel within Mexico and the United States (25%)
Scope of Job
• The Supplier Quality Engineer works and communicates with multiple internal and external Organizations (Corporate Procurement, Projects, Plants, Suppliers) to assure program milestones, corporate supply base development and supplier performance objectives in line with Auria and Customer requirement.
Preferred Education & Experiences to fulfil role (essential & desirable)
• Engineer in Automotive Business Engineering, chemistry, machinery or mechanics or equivalent through experience.
• Valid B-1 visa to enter the United States for business (supplier visits) as required,
• Ideally 5 years of experience in the automotive industry, with minimum of 3 years in a quality related position in Procurement or Quality in a multinational environment
• Knowledge of advanced quality planning and product validation tools (APQP, PPAP) and of customer requirements.
• Good working knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, VDA 6.3).
• Basic knowledge of ISO 14001 (Environmental), OH&S (Occupational Health & Safety)
• Basic knowledge of Green Belt/Black Belt problem solving methodologies. Certification is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of VA/VE
• Good communication skills
• Excellent team player
• Fluent in English.
• Excellent Computer Literacy including MS-Office, MS-Project, ERP Systems (Plex or SAP)
