Auria Solutions is seeking a Materials intern to join our team at our manufacturing facility in St Clair, Michigan. Our internship program is designed to give participants the opportunity to jump start their career by working closely with our materials teams to gain hands on experience. The student will be assigned a specific project as their main focus for the summer and in addition will have the opportunity to help support the plant’s Materials and Operations Teams with meeting all Auria Manufacturing requirements related to safety, processes, equipment capability and reliability, cost, quality, budget improvement and Continuous Improvement (CI) activities, etc.
General Responsibilities:
- Summer project and presentation
- Support engineering change requests
- Participate in cost saving projects and responsible for reporting
- Assist with materials accuracy to achieve timeline milestones for production
- Support continuous improvement activities through materials process improvement(s).
- Participate in Kaizen events
- Learn ways to provide support to materials and operations related to materials reporting issues.
- Help ensure all contractors are following the plant safety rules.
- Support required actions based on results from Global Safety Audit
- Participate in corrective actions in regard to machine safety issues as requested.
- Other activities as assigned by Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
- Requires experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Highly motivated
- Strong written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work with a diverse group of departments/functions
- High level of integrity
- Priority setting and time management
