Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates inbound and outbound logistical operations including transportation and warehousing to make certain sufficient supply of products and goods.
  • Oversees an effective system that meets the organization’s inventory control needs through efficient transportation of raw materials, component parts and/or finished goods through activities such as locating and dispatching, sourcing, receiving, procurement and optimizing inventory levels. 
  • Ensures compliance with U.S. and foreign government laws and regulations.
  • Oversees the completion of paperwork and monetary transactions associated with international distribution in a timely manner.
  • Negotiates with clients and handle issues with customs officials for the import/export and transshipment of packages and documents in a time sensitive environment, to achieve agreed standard of operational quality throughout customs clearance process.
  • Learns, understands, and complies with all required customer systems and tools
  • Maintains regular interaction with scheduling, manufacturing, and engineering departments to resolve any potential issues that would result in a customer interruption
  • Participates in responses to customers and problem solving related to customer delivery issues
  • Tracks and expedites shipments as required to maintain 100% delivery
  • Monitors EDI incoming and release data and sets up customer scheduled orders
  • Communicates any potential missed shipments to the manager and customer, when required
  • Communicates weekly release requirements to the supply base based on customer requirements
  • All other activities as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager

·       Skills and Experience Requirements

  •            Minimum of 2 years customer service experience (automotive industry preferred)
  •        Working experience with MRP systems and EDI with customers and suppliers; QAD / Plex a     plus
  •            Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook)
  •            Self-directed, detail-oriented, and reliable
  •        Strong written and oral communication skills
