Senior Launch Manager

Description

 

General:

  • Provides the project and commercial interface between the Auria plant and internal cross functional team from program award until start of production +90 days.
  • Responsible for the launch readiness and main customer interface between Auria and local OEM assembly plant.
  • Leads cross functional, international team of Program Management, Advanced Technical, Sales, Operations, Quality, Finance etc. to ensure plant readiness for launch.

 

Responsible for:

  • Development and execution of launch plans
  • Delivering program(s) within agreed budget and above awarded profitability
  • Ensuring the plant has required resources for a successful launch
  • Plant technical readiness to receive tooling and equipment
  • Timely start-up of tooling and equipment commissioning
  • Adherence to customer build events according to customer and internal APQP/ PPAP process
  • Tracking and timely closure of customer and internal open issues including root cause analysis, documenting lessons learned and implementation of corrective actions, commercial collections etc.
  • Coordinating customer visits and managing customer expectations

 

Specific tasks:

  • Initiates and signs off on Team Feasibility Commitments
  • Tracks launch performance using Launch Score Card
  • Provides information for quoting / engineering changes including capital, start-up costs, and labor
  • Provides and maintains accurate BOM, DFMEA, PFMEA, Value Stream Analysis etc.
  • Uses Manufacturing Engineering checklist to sign off on plant acceptance for tooling and equipment.
  • Provides standard work documents to Plant Floor
  • Develops capital budget with Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, ensures capital requirements are optimized for plant specific needs
  • Forecasts spending and tracks capital expenditures against budget
  • Completes Layered Process Audits as required per CPM 8.04
  • Participates in daily accountability meetings

 

Reports to:

  • Program Management Lead in Europe
  • Functional reporting to Plant Manager in Spartanburg Plant

 

Work location: Auria Spartanburg

 

Experience:

  • Requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with program launch of interior parts with German OEM’s, specifically BMW
  • Requires previous experience in a technical, program management or operations role with Automotive tier 1 supplier
  • Knowledge of Soft Trim and Acoustics manufacturing process and materials
  • Technical or commercial degree (Bachelor or higher), preferred

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Plex a plus
  • Ability to take a leadership role in a team environment
  • Effective communication with customers and all levels of Auria’s global organization
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in both German and English language required
