Our product line includes highly engineered acoustical solutions for interior noise reduction, textile-based and compression-molded flooring products and other interior soft trim products, including package trays, trunk trim and wheel arch liners. The Maintenance Superintendent will be responsible for the following:

  • Supervise multi-craft maintenance and apprentice personnel in a 3-shift, just-in-time, union manufacturing environment
  • Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly activities necessary to maintain the facility and to support production operations
  • Maintain and improve an effective preventive maintenance system that maximizes equipment efficiency and reliability and ensure efficient management of resources
  • Effectively manage inventories of spare parts and maintenance consumables
  • Ensure the delivery of optimal results against appropriate performance metrics, including downtime of equipment, schedule compliance, work backlog, and completion of safety-related activities
  • Develop, implement, and review maintenance processes/equipment to ensure compliance to policies, standards, regulatory requirements and ensure mitigation of risks
  • Plan, develop, and implement new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials
  • Support operations and engineering personnel to resolve process issues and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment
  • Provide technical support for efficient troubleshooting/problem solving activities and maintenance repair to maximize efficiencies and limit downtime
  • Perform follow-up analysis to identify and resolve recurring downtime/inefficient operations issues.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities to support design engineering changes on new and existing programs
  • Conduct skill assessments and provide training to improve skills within the Maintenance department
  • Assist with the Apprenticeship Committee
  • Meet with the UAW Skilled Trades committee and other UAW Committee representatives, as needed, to resolve Maintenance-related issues
  • Provide cost and timing estimates, as required, for tooling and equipment changes
  • Obtain quotes from and Interface with outside contractors, as needed
  • Oversee site security activities (including spill incidents,  evacuation situations, fire systems management,  water treatment, and regulatory compliance)
Requirements:

Education/ Experience:
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Technical degree, preferred
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a Maintenance department, preferably in an Union environment

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook)
  • Must be able to work any shift, weekends, and overtime when necessary
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, team-oriented, union environment
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills
  • Strong knowledge of tooling, equipment, engineering specifications, and cost reduction methods in automotive applications. Prefer experience with the following:
  • PLC with AB PLC5, SLC500, and Control Logix platforms
  • Motoman MRC, XRC, NX, and DX series robots in waterjet cutting, stapling, and gluing applications
  • Industrial vision systems including Keyence and Cognex
  • Working knowledge of the TS16949/ISO14001 standard
