North American Indirect Purchasing Manager - Job Description and Responsibilities


Position Specific Requirements (PSR):

  • Responsible to establish and implement procurement strategy for assigned North American indirect commodities. Including but not limited to Facilities Management, Information Technology, Maintenance Stock, Office Supplies, Packaging, Services, Subcontracting, Utilities.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions including regional agreements to meet cost, quality and delivery targets for the AURIA production facilities.
  • Ensures early procurement engagement in significant spend areas to maximize procurement's impact
  • Develop deep product and supplier knowledge to drive continuous improvement within the spend managed.
  • Knowledge of Professional services (HR services, Sub-Contracting, Temporary Help and Consultants)
  • Lead advanced contract negotiations with suppliers for indirect activities.
  • Management of commercial expectations with indirect suppliers to leverage Auria regional spend
  • Other activities as assigned by Director


Job Requirements


  • BS/BA required (Supply Chain emphasis)
  • Engineering background preferred but not required



  • Required 10 years minimum in Supply Chain/ Procurement, preferably Automotive Sector


  • Proven business acumen
  • Strong ability to train, motivate and direct employees to optimize productivity
  • Capable to conduct financial analysis, cost comparisons and index calculations
  • Ability to build business case and present sourcing recommendation
  • Familiarity with commercial terms and total cost management concepts
  • Strong understanding of indirect commodities
  • Advanced ability to setup and lead negotiations with suppliers
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills
  • Works independently under general supervision
  • Works effectively, efficiently, and accurately while under the stress of accelerated deadline
  • Ability to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues
  • Ability to set high personal goals and work independently
