Job/Position Summary:

As Head of Supply Chain Management, your role will lead Auria’s procurement activities in North America while aligning with our worldwide strategy for key commodities. The Head of Supply Chain Management North America will directly report to the Vice President Global Supply Chain Management

The Head of Supply Chain Management North America is a leadership role that exists to help deliver measurable efficiencies in a challenging economic climate through a professional service provided to the rest of the organization. This role requires leading the strategy, sourcing and management of (including supplier and contract management) all direct and indirect spend as well as Freight & Logistics and Supplier Quality Engineering areas for Auria Solutions in North America.

The Head of Supply Chain Management North America will lead the category management team for the third party spend while indirectly supporting the management of the P2P resources required to deliver the procurement activities.

This role will work closely with the Vice President Global Supply Chain Management and provide inputs for leading practice methodologies, processes and frameworks for improved spend management and support wider agreed strategic agenda for procurement across Auria.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Pro-active leadership and accountability for all procurement activities and management of Direct and Indirect third party spend.
  • Understands in depth the key suppliers, materials and can identify and mitigate commercial and supply chain risks
  • Leading negotiations with key suppliers
  • Supervision of a Regional Supply Chain Management team (procurement, logistics and supplier quality engineering) with responsibility for policy development and implementation of strategies.
  • Definition of SCM team goals setting and employee performance management on an annual basis.
  • Leading and managing the performance and compliance management team along with operational contract management for the entire third party spend.
  • Supporting organization wide procedures for governance, risk and control that manage, mitigate and minimize risks to Auria and its partners. This will include assuming continued accountability for decisions through these processes and ensuring on-going monitoring and review of performance.
  • Support Global Director of Supply Chain Management on the execution of strategies for global commodities and services on a regional level.
  • Support on the implementation and management of Purchasing Platform via external procurement provider for the standard sourcing of MRO items.
  • Work with purchasing finance to manage regional savings roadmaps for direct materials and indirect procurement as well as Logistics projects.
  • Other duties as assigned by VP of Global Supply Chain Management.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Meeting or surpassing agreed goals and savings objectives for the third party spend at Auria North America.
  • Increased customer satisfaction with stakeholders outside procurement, Logistics and Supplier Quality Engineering.
  • Compliance with internally defined policies and procedures for risk management, regulatory and legal requirements and corporate governance.
  • Improvement in team skills around procurement and value adding inputs to the business.
  • Timely sign off and delivery of annual business plans for the entire third party spend.
  • Bringing innovation and commercial intelligence in procurement operations and instilling a culture of continuous improvement.


Job Requirements

Qualification and Competencies:


  • Bachelors degree in a relevant subject
  • MBA/Masters degree preferred


  • Minimum 10 years applicable experience in a leading role within Procurement or supply chain.
  • Experience and deep understanding of procurement in automotive sector and production processes


  • Financial analysis capability
  • Strong understanding of commodity markets and industry dynamics
  • Displays appropriate self-confidence and enthusiasm
  • Effectively deals with disputes among staff, suppliers and other departments
  • Brings individuals and groups together to accomplish common goals
  • Excellent skills in developing and delivering verbal and written communications
  • Demonstrates ability to adapt to changing situations

  • Deep understanding of production processes, tools and best practices, understanding of finance processes and concepts and how these can be addressed / supported via procurement
  • Works well in joint efforts with other departments
  • Ability to develop and communicate a strategy. Strong influencing skills and ability to lead a large team with varied backgrounds and skill sets
  • Requires appropriate accountability from supervised staff
  • Ability to put priorities in perspective when emergencies arise
  • Ability to “sell” procurement’s value and to run procurement as a services business like any other well-run professional services business
  • Expert authority for procurement, logistics supplier quality engineering processes, regulations and practice generally and leading expert authority in Auria for the procurement and commercial landscape for the Direct and Indirect spend areas
  • Experience of successfully leading teams to deliver complex projects and understanding of relevant project management methodologies
  • Fluent in English, Spanish and any additional language is a plus
