Controls Engineer in Greenville-Spartanburg at Auria

This position is responsible for designing, developing, installing and managing projects related to equipment which is used to monitor and control machinery and processes in our North American Plants. The position will ensure that these systems and processes operate effectively, efficiently, and safely. The position will also have the opportunity to work on a variety of automation design projects that will start with initial design, through the manufacture of the systems, testing, debugging, installation and training. The position is also instrumental in supporting the plants with troubleshooting and or solutions to rectify control/electrical type issues with the manufacturing equipment.

• Protect Auria’s assets from loss or damage
• Become familiar with all areas of Auria’s plant equipment and processes.
• Integrating equipment, designing and developing new control systems, which will include electrical schematics, PLC programming, safety devices, VFD’s and some robot programming with overall system testing and debugging and verifying the are meeting machine safety standards.
• Research new technologies to improve the quality and efficiencies within our manufacturing environments.
• Support the Auria manufacturing sites to minimize downtime and assist in troubleshooting equipment issues.
• Project management keeping projects within cost and timing targets.
• Support launch activities to ensure new and existing equipment meets safety standards and machine specifications.
• Assist in identifying critical spare electrical/control parts for equipment.
• Specifying and purchasing new equipment.
• Assisting in the training and development of engineering or maintenance groups related to new equipment and technologies introduced to the plants.
• Assist the plant technical/maintenance managers in identifying and developing a rolling plan to upgrade process control equipment where necessary.
• Support manufacturing and validation of new systems which could include pneumatic, hydraulic or servo driven machines, safety systems, communication networks and HMI programming for operator use.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities. This includes quality, safety, efficiency and plant Kaizen events.
