Job Description

Position Specific Requirements (PSR):

  • Maintaining CI cost savings activities projects including implementation and follow up.
  • Work in detail with plant finance team to verify savings with each project.
  • Facilitate Kaizen Event workshops which include interface with salary and hourly workforce.
  • Follow up on Kaizen event results to ensure implementation.
  • Maintain the plants lean annual plan status in corporate wide software.
  • Interface with Corporate CI weekly for Plant CI status including update on cost savings projects and event completion.
  • Develop and measure standard metrics, diagramming the flow (including inputs and outputs) of a business process.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop a project plan for implementing improvements and monitoring the new process to ensure it works as intended.
  • Prepare reports and statistics and work with frontline staff, identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Coach employees on how to work more efficiently.
  • Support the facility’s Continuous Improvement efforts, including but not limited to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and Cost Reduction.
  • Support plant’s cost reduction and profit improvement efforts and implements plans to achieve those objectives.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience is required
  • BS/BA in Engineering preferred

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years in CI or as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment is required
  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years in the automotive industry is preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with Lean manufacturing techniques
  • Experience in Facilitating and Participation in Lean Manufacturing workshops
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma/Red X applications and uses
  • Knowledge of Time Study and Machine Capacity applications
  • Requires limited supervision
  • Able to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
